A quiet story of strength, memory, and purpose.
The For Freya programme exists in memory of our daughter, Freya Wilson.
Freya passed away in September 2025 at just 22 months old. When she was only 10 weeks old, she suffered a cardiac arrest at home. From that day forward, her life — and ours — became a series of uncertain moments.
There were many times when we were told to prepare ourselves. Many stages where the outcome was unclear. Each milestone felt fragile. Each step forward felt hard-won.
But Freya continued.
She defied expectations again and again. She came off the ventilator. She left intensive care. She came home. She survived infections that could have taken her from us. What began as a story filled with “what ifs” became a story defined by resilience.

Freya required 24-hour care, yet she was never defined by her medical needs. She experienced the world in her own way. We were able to take her out, to make memories, and to enjoy ordinary family moments that never felt ordinary to us.
Her favourite place was The Deep aquarium in Hull. We visited often. She loved the lights, the movement, the atmosphere. Those trips remain some of our most treasured memories.
We could not have navigated that chapter of our lives without the support of many people and organisations — especially Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Before Freya was discharged from hospital, Martin House welcomed us and helped us prepare for bringing her home. They walked us through medications, equipment, and what to do if complications arose. They gave us the confidence to care for her ourselves — something that once felt overwhelming.
Their facilities are exceptional. Their staff are extraordinary. But what mattered most was their compassion.
We visited Martin House several times with Freya, and she was always surrounded by warmth and understanding. After she passed, their support did not stop. They checked in on us regularly and welcomed us back whenever we needed to talk.
We remain deeply grateful.
As part of the For Freya programme, we donate 10% of profits from every Britain in Lines book to Martin House. It is a small way of honouring the care they gave us, and of ensuring that Freya’s life continues to have impact beyond our family.
Freya had a presence that was impossible to ignore. She had a quiet determination that surprised everyone who met her. She made people fall in love with her instantly.
Her life was brief, but it was extraordinary in its strength and in the love it created.
Britain in Lines is a brand built around place, memory, and time — around slowing down and noticing what matters.
Freya is part of that foundation.
She is forever loved.
She is forever missed.
And through this programme, her strength continues to reach further than we could have imagined.
